Founded in 1864 by Frenchman Jean Désiré Féraud, Monte Christo Winery is the birthplace of Central Otago wine. Settling in the Alexandra Basin, Féraud knew his property had enormous potential for vine growing, but he had no idea of the impact his discovery would have on a celebrated wine-growing region 150 years on.
Today, Stanley Paris and sons Nicholas and Alan, the present custodians of Monte Christo Winery, pay tribute to this rich heritage, striving to produce some of the world's most distinguished Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
