Clachanburn Gardens & Cottages
Clachanburn is nestled under the south end of the Rough Ridge range in the Maniototo. The Garden is open by appointment only, from Spring until Autumn.
Lunches and Devonshire teas are available by prior arrangement.
Each season brings its own beauty. Spring bulbs and blossoms are followed by irises and peonies. In summer roses and perennials flower profusely, followed by the beautiful autumn colours which Central Otago is so well known for.
Jane is happy to share her garden knowledge with visitors, and indeed enjoys meeting and sharing her garden with interested people.
Small weddings can be arranged –
The ceremony and photographs in the garden followed by pre function nibbles / drinks.
The Shop features pickles and craft of quality by Jane. A limited selection of outside products is now also included.
The cottage is self contained and sleeps 4 guests – a queen bedroom and twin room. The cottage is original and although it now has modern facilities it has retained its charm and character.
It is important that guests understand that the cottage is not a farm stay but rather part of the garden experience.
Your safety is my concern, and with the water in the garden I do not recommend children staying.
The NZ Gardens Trust has recognized Clachanburn, and registered it as a garden of National Significance
