Roxburgh Area School

Roxburgh Area School provides a learning and caring educational environment, recognising individual needs, and encouraging all students to develop to their full potential.

We cater for students from Years 1-13 and this means that we are a family focused school. It is not unusual to see our senior students helping the younger ones both in the playground and in the classroom. We pride ourselves on developing these positive relationships which allows our younger students to enjoy a safe and supported environment while our older students develop valuable leadership and communication skills. We sincerely believe that students learn best when they enjoy being at school and feel safe and supported in the school environment.

Our small size means that we can offer small classes which focus on individual needs. Our size has also meant that we have had to be innovative in how we deliver our senior curriculum. We have embraced technology to ensure that our senior students have a comprehensive range of subjects to choose from. We then support these students to develop individual learning pathways which enables them to make meaningful and informed choices about their future study and work. E-learning through the use of web based applications is embedded practice in our school and the success of our students attests to its effectiveness.
