Touch Yarns
Touch Yarns are created from the finest New Zealand Merino wool ideal for knitting, weaving, embroidery, felting and embellishment of garments.
All Touch Yarns and colours are designed by Marnie Kelly, inspired by the stark beauty of thyme fields, mountains and the historic goldfields of Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand.
Central Otago boasts the origins of some of the world's finest quality wool and mohair. With sharp, seasonal climate variations and low rainfall, conditions are well suited for growing the high quality fibre used in Touch Yarns.
An avid spinner and weaver, Marnie made garments for her family, finding that the fine wools did not have the 'prickle' factor of some of the coarser yarns on the market.
Touch Yarns produces innovative yarns from gorgeous white 2ply to variegate dyed Merino double knit, 4 ply, and yarn with 'no stuff on it’. Even the imported artificial fibres are good for 'mixing and matching’ with Touch Yarns.
"There's room for everything in fashion, for anyone taking up the knitting craze, throw the size of yarn out the door and experiment!"
