The Prospector MTB Stage Race

New Zealand’s premier mountain bike stage race, set in the MTB mecca of Alexandra.

Our bucket-list event is the three-day stage race - not for the faint hearted with Alexandra’s famous technical rocky, thyme encrusted single-track to keep riders sharp and honest. Added to that, lung-busting uphill climbs really push riders fitness and grit.

A NEW WAY TO RIDE….RELAY!
The Relay opens up the Prospector to a range of new riders who were a bit nervous about completing the whole ride but are keen to be a part of the 3-day action. Race as a team of two on our Prologue course then each team-mate will ride half of the course on Stages 1 & 2. It’s up to you who rides each half – someone love climbs? Someone adores the downhill? Join back together to cross the finish line as a team on the final day.
 

MATANGI CLAIM ADVENTURE RIDE - Sunday 10th March 2024
For those short on time but keen on adventure come along to the Matangi Claim Adventure Ride. Held on the Sunday, this one-day epic ride will see riders join our Prospectors for the final stage of the race. Riders get a taste of the amazing riding that Central Otago has on offer and experience a whole new side of Matangi Station MTB.
