My younger years were spent in Nelson, then Roxburgh and Cromwell before heading to Queenstown to start my hotel career. My career then then took me to Auckland and Rotorua before returning to Queenstown. In 2005 I applied for and was appointed to the position of General Manager at The Gate where I have been ever since, apart from a year’s sabbatical to work in the building industry.

I am a father of three, 2 daughters and a son, and particularly enjoy the opportunities we have to get out and enjoy the variety of great outdoors activities that are right on our doorstep. I love that it is only 2 minutes to my favourite café, 3 minutes to the lake and 20 minutes to the top of the hills overlooking the valley. I believe that Central Otago provides everything you need to get the ultimate work / life balance. There is a positive business community and it is great to be part of a supportive and growing community.
